There are different types of boom barrier gate with different arm and speed etc. As the owner of a parking lots, you have to choose the right parking barrier based on your own requirements. Choosing a proper barrier gate can improve the working efficiency of the entire parking lot, reduce errors and economic losses. Below factors should be considered when you choose a barrier gate.

Arm type (Straight/Folding/Fence)

Different parking lots requires different types of boom arm. Due to height limit, underground parking lots generally uses folding arm barrier. While the open ground car park is normally installed with straight arm barrier or fence arm barrier.

Opening/Closing Time

Select opening/closing time according to traffic flow. In some parking premises where the traffic flow is high, such as highway toll gate, large shopping malls and airports etc., 0.3/0.6/0.9s high speed barrier is generally required. While other parking entrance and exit with low traffic flow, such as residential communities and factories etc., normal speed barrier of 2s~6s is enough. Moreover, speed should be compatible with boom arm length.

AC or DC Motor

A barrier adopts either DC motor or AC motor. Select DC or AC motor according to power supply conditions. it is recommended to choose a barrier with DC motor for sites where it is not convenient to connect electricity, so that solar power can be used. For a site where the electricity power supply is not stable, better to install a barrier with DC motor too, because you can use battery as a back-up power supply

MTCF & Duty Cycle

Select a barrier according to MTCF and duty cycle. Efficiency and durability are the key requirements for a highway toll gate. It must be 100% duty cycle and at least 5 Million MTCF for a motor.

Cabinet Material and Surface Treatment

The barrier cabinet needs to be solid and durable. It is recommended to choose a cold rolled steel shell with a thickness of 2mm and IP54 rated, also with powder coated surface treatment.

Safety & Convenience

It has advanced and mature intelligent anti -hit function, such as anti-hit by loop detector

, anti-hit by IR photocell, anti-hit by "Opening Priority", boom auto-reverse on obstacle etc., so as to ensure the safety of the parking lot, not to hit pedestrians or vehicles, avoid personal life damage and economic losses.

Boom automatically open up fully in case of power failure, or can open barrier by manual if there is emergency situation. You can open the barrier with the key, and then manually operate the barrier to lift the arm to release the vehicle.

The barrier is a necessary safety defense line for the management of the parking lot. If it cannot be operated normally, it will cause the entire parking lot system to be unable to work, which brings great inconvenience to our travel.
